The Myth of Omnipresence (3): The 5 Places God Always Is

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. – John 4:23-24

The third place you can rest assured God is always and can be found in material form is wherever He is genuinely worshipped, or where He is worshipped in spirit and truth.

Now, it is fitting to carefully consider the keywords in this passage so that we leave nothing to assumption. This passage is a direct statement from Jesus, the Son of God, to the woman from Samaria as they were engaged in conversation by the well. Jesus raised some fundamental points here. Firstly, He mentioned true worshippers. By highlighting this, He also indirectly tells us that there are fake, untrue, or non-genuine worshippers. And if we know anything about originals and counterfeits, we can easily guess that the fakes are usually more common and easily accessible than the originals.

Another point of note is that Jesus also qualifies those who are true worshippers. He said they worship in spirit and truth. This means that not all acts of worship are accepted by God. He only welcomes the worship offered in spirit and truth. They are the ones He occupies (Psalm 22:3).

Therefore, not everyone who sings worship songs, ministers at religious gatherings or makes a show of worshipping God is a true worshipper. True worshippers are not commonplace. That is why Jesus claimed that even God is actively looking for them to worship Him. Why? Because worship is what God feeds on. He practically lives on it. So wherever true worshippers are gathered, and God is being worshipped in spirit and truth, you can rest assured that He is there.
