Another lesson every leader can learn from Nehemiah is the need for spiritual alignment or realignment. Nehemiah did not just take an initiative to convene a holy assembly to reconcile the people with God
Having achieved his immediate objective, he realized the need to also bring the people up to speed in their relationship with God. That was why he summoned a holy assembly, or a corporate devotion of sorts, to reacquaint the people with God.
However, he enjoyed enough goodwill from the leaders and the people for them to generously give from their own resources to get the project underway.
Data collection is the fallout from Nehemiah’s decision to conduct a census of the people in the land. It is also the leadership lesson we will meditate on today.
In continuation of our meditation on the leadership lessons to be learned from Nehemiah, another attribute of his that stands out in our reference passage above is spiritual sensitiveness.
Another lesson we can learn from the leadership example of Nehemiah was security consciousness and the need to have a watertight security system in place to ensure the safety of lives and property.
