The benefit of wisdom, we shall consider today, is promotion. We have already discussed the primacy of wisdom compared to all other acquisitions. That fact is further buttressed in our reference scripture today, as the Bible maintains that wisdom is ‘the principal thing’ that we all should accord a priority in getting.
Here, God told Abraham that He was “going down” to Sodom and Gomorrah to ascertain the veracity of the various atrocities that had been reported to Him about the people of the place.
While God was heading to Sodom and Gomorrah to ascertain the level of their atrocities, He made a detour at Abraham’s tent through His appearance at the Terebith trees of Mamre before proceeding to His destination.
