The Benefits of Wisdom: Record-Breaker

So King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom. – 1 Kings 10:23

Another benefit wisdom confers on those who possess it is the ability to surpass achievements of contemporaries, competitions and other existing records in any field of endeavor and become the best or point of reference there. In other words, wisdom can make one a world record-breaker.

From the referenced passage, we can see how Solomon not only surpassed all the kings in his era in wisdom but also exceeded them all in riches as well. This is one of the surpassing privileges that come with wisdom. It has a way of projecting someone endowed with it as the world’s best in their fields.

If you consider all the past and current figures who were/are touted as the world’s best in their respective endeavors, you will see that although their fields may be as diverse as the world itself, one common thing they all share is unusual wisdom or depth of understanding in their domain that make stand them out from the rest. Only wisdom does that to someone.

It is important to state that wisdom is neither limited to a particular religion nor is it an exclusive preserve of a particular race, social status or background. Wisdom is accessible to everyone irrespective of affiliation or affinity. It can also be conferred on anyone without regard for their persuasions.

Wisdom is of God, and He gives it in measure to whoever He wishes to the extent that they ask Him for it or that they need it for the purpose He made them.

Solomon and the other people we have considered so far in this particular series were not Christians. However, they were all blessed with wisdom to the extent that they asked God, in the case of Solomon, or that they needed it for their unique situation or assignment, as with Bezalel, Aholiab, David, and the wise woman of the fortified city about to be overrun by Joab and his men while in pursuit of the treasonable Sheba, the son of Bichri.

Wisdom can make you a world record-breaker in your field if you are endowed with it. However, The catch for the followers of Christ is that, among other things, He has also embodied the wisdom of God to them, particularly to those who are able to connect with Him in that realm.
