The Myth of Omnipresence (5): The 5 Places God Always Is
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. – Psalm 46:1
The fifth place God is always sure to be, as seen in our reference passage today, is wherever any of His beloved or chosen are in trouble. According to the Psalmist, God is a very present help in trouble. Now that is something.
The qualifier “very” emphasizes the fact that when the situation is critical, God is more vested to be there to rescue, save, deliver, help, or do whatever is required to keep His own from harm. That is very comforting to know.
It does not matter if the beloved of God in this regard can pray at that moment or not. If they can pray and cry for help, that is great. However, even if they are not aware of the impending trouble as to take a premeditated action or they are already in the thick of it and are too overwhelmed to pray, God’s presence is activated as long as the person in question is a sincere child of His and has an ongoing relationship with Him in spirit and truth. Those are the prerequisites.
It is important to state that it is not every trouble that God’s presence and intervention are activated. He probably would not come galloping when we stretch out our hands to bring trouble upon ourselves. He may also not be obliged to sprint to the rescue of someone who does not reckon with Him.
There are millions of people earnestly worshipping and calling upon God at any given point in time; some of them face similar or graver situations than those who do not regard Him. Therefore, why should He leave those people and come fawning over the need of someone who neither acknowledges His presence nor relates with Him? Think about it.
However, wherever any of His own are really in trouble, you can rest assured that God is always there with them.
