The Myth of Omnipresence (4): The 5 Places God Always Is

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. – Psalm 145:18

We established yesterday that the third place God is ever guaranteed to be is wherever He is worshipped in sincerity, that is, in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). Today, we will consider yet another place where God is always present; the place where He is being called upon in truth or in sincerity.

Our reference scripture sheds light on this position by affirming that God is near to everyone who calls Him. But this is not just mere calling, it is only those who call upon Him in truth, that is, in sincerity.

Having this proviso of truth or sincerity appear twice in the subject matter of God’s whereabouts should help us to realize how important sincerity is to God.  Because we have been created as the superior of God’s other creatures, it is so easy for us humans to want to get above ourselves by playing smart and taking advantage of other people, game the system, and cheating, particularly if we can get away without being caught.

However, God is smarter than the smartest of us and so cannot be deceived (Galatians 6:7). He sees beyond the thickest of veneers. He cannot be hoodwinked by the smartest of schemes because He always looks beyond the façade into the core of our motives for whatever we do (1 Samuel 16:7).

Therefore, just as in the equation of worshipping Him in sincerity, so also is His disposition to whoever calls Him. He does not answer every caller; He does not heed every call. He only attends to those who call Him in truth and sincerity.

So, wherever God is being called in truth without putting on a show of piety or trying to impress anyone, but where He is being called with the genuineness of intentions, you can rest assured that God is not far from such a person or place, be they one or many.
