being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; – Philippians 1:6 New King James Version (NKJV)

Another angle to the message in the above scripture for our meditation is the major concerns in any worthwhile endeavor, the beginning and the end. As we all know, the beginning of any major project can be daunting and difficult, thus posing an intimidating prospect for anyone from daring to start. Also, seeing any project to completion is equally a demanding task. There are usually more starters than finishers. Therefore, neither the beginning nor the end is easy.

However, a cheery fact from the scripture is the fact that even though the beginning and finishing of a good work may pose such challenge, that should not be the case for an anointed of the LORD, as God Himself is the One who instigates beginning and also oversees the end. The passage says, “He who begins the good work…will complete it.”

Therefore, you need not cripple yourself with the anxiety of beginning or stress out yourself with the fear of ending, as you are not the main pilot of the cargo, and you have a minimal role to play in starting or completing the mission. You just need to focus on your own bits, the doing, and do that well in a way that will glorify God and be acceptable to Him.

Perhaps, this is worth reiterating, the beginning of a good work and the successful completion of it should not be your headache if you have things in perspective and understand the import of Philippians 1:6. God is the One who instigates beginning and the One who will also see it to completion. Your role in every good work, ministry, charity, and other divinely sanctioned projects is to do and do it well,

It is also important to state that the fact that God instigates the beginning does not mean that He is going to do it the way you idealize with all the resources you think you need to start available at your disposal. No, God works with those who take a step of faith and get on the work even if they do not have all the things they need; and as they stay the course and continue doing, He honors their faith and makes more and more materials available to them to work with.

Now, that you know this, the question is, when are you going to start? And for how long will you stay the course even when the ride gets rough?

You Will Succeed in Jesus Name!
