being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; – Philippians 1:6 New King James Version (NKJV)
In continuation of our meditation which we started yesterday on good works, just as we highlighted that there are two action words – began and complete – in the passage, a rarity in itself to have the two words featuring in one full breadth in the scriptures, another thing you need to know is that the two action words are also attached to the dominant party in the good work, God, “He who began… will complete”.
Now, that should further encourage you concerning any good work that you have planned or in view for the benefit of humankind. Having inspired the initiative in you, you can rest assured that God is also committed to begin it in you as well as complete it with you. That means He will not ditch you halfway or abandon the project with you, as He is equally vested in it as much you are, if not more.
There are many projects and ideas for ministry, philanthropy, outreach and other such interventions that can be a blessing to others that are marinating in the minds of the conceivers and have not seen the light of the day because the persons inspired to do them are fixated on their own limitations and resources, while some are just afraid of failure amidst other fears.
The passage of our meditation offers an iron-clad assurance to those people that they will not need to run on their own steam, as God is fully committed to the starting, the running and the successful completion of every good work. Therefore, we need not legislate ourselves out of reckoning by seeing more of what we do not have or what we do not have the capacity to do, but we should rather focus on doing what we can with what we have because God Himself is the senior partner in the project, and He is responsible for making it work.
Now that you know that you have God as a partner, will you get on it?
You Will Succeed in Jesus Name!
