At a point in time, even the Jews themselves lost connection with God and became outcasts in His reckoning. Jesus then had to come, among other reasons, to reconcile the estranged Jews and the willing Gentiles to God. So that they can all be part of the new commonwealth of Israel and be beneficiaries of all the privileges reserved for the Jews alone.

Here is one of the reasons Jesus came to earth – to call sinners to repentance. Repentance is a state of being that precedes salvation. It is that point when one’s steel resolve is broken, in the light of an encounter with Jesus, and one admits his/her wrong and is willing to make a fresh start. Just like Jesus, some people are created for this same purpose.

Like Jesus, some people were created for this purpose. God sent them to impart other people with the ability to execute specific missions and assignments. They are called enablers. Moses was one of them, as he did this to Aaron, Bezalel, Aholiab, Joshua and the other people he was instructed to impart for various assignments during the exodus.

Shepherdship is the highest level of leadership, and it is the first purpose of Jesus mentioned in the synoptic gospels. Jesus came to shepherd God’s people. He came to provide leadership and every responsibility that comes with that calling. Similarly, some people are created to lead others.
