…through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood… because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed.
– Romans 3:24-25

Here is another mission of Jesus on earth; He was sent by God as a propitiation for our sins so that we can be rid of the dark blot of guilt and we can enjoy a right standing with God. Because of the great love God has for humankind, He had to part with something most precious to Him – His Son, Jesus Christ – Whom He offered as a sacrifice in order to regain humankind and restore fellowship them him (John 3:16).

Jesus paid the price for our redemption by offering Himself to be crucified so that we might be without guilt. He offered His blood as an atonement for the collective sins of humankind; thus, paying the ultimate price as ransom for the souls of men from the grasp of the devil; for ‘without the shedding of blood there is no remission’ (Hebrews 9:22).

The self-sacrifice that Jesus did was a one-off thing. He had died and rose from the dead to break the power of sin and the devil’s yoke on anyone who cares to accept as a matter of fact the good works He had come to execute on earth.

Knowing thus the import of the assignment of Jesus – the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29), it is pertinent that we free ourselves of the weight of sin by living a holy life that is pleasing in the eyes of God. It is also important that we comport ourselves conscious of the sacrifice He had made for us. He has cancelled the record of our sin by dying on the cross, and for as long as the earth remains, the ultimate price He had paid will forever be in force, and His shed blood will forever speak better things for us.

You will succeed in Jesus’s Name!
