and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith

– 2 Timothy 3:15

Wisdom is the supreme possession. The Bible describes it as the most important thing. Wisdom is the key ingredient needed for success in life, and it is applicable in all situations. Wisdom makes a fulfilled person, a successful career, a happy home, a fruitful activity, a peaceful and prosperous nation, a profitable business, an impactful ministry, and so forth. And the wisdom deployed to achieve one end may not necessarily be applicable to another; hence, the need to continually evolve in wisdom in order to succeed in the various dynamics of life.

The Bible also tells us that even God used wisdom whilst creating the heavens and earth (Prov 8:22-31). And if you consider the enormous complexity of the earth – not to mention the heavens – you would realise what it means to employ wisdom in the execution of anything.

It is an accepted fact that each of us would die someday, and, after death, there is a longer spell of life, which could be either painful or blissful, depending on one’s inclination to Jesus Christ while on earth. Those that accepted Him as their Lord and lived in accordance with His teachings are said to have obtained ‘salvation’, a state of being that will result in a blissful life after death.

Salvation is both instantaneous and transitional. At the point of surrendering your life to the authority of Christ and confessing Him as Lord, you become saved. But it doesn’t end there; everything you do afterward must align with your salvation status. It takes wisdom to be saved; it also takes wisdom to remain saved. Salvation is not automatic, and once saved does not mean always saved. The passage above tells us the Scripture is where we can find the wisdom we need to make our salvation sure. Doing this requires that we make the Scriptures a daily must-read.

Therefore, in order to be saved and remained saved, the Scripture must be your essential daily routine. If it is not, you can change that today, right away.

You will succeed in Jesus’ Name!
