Specialization
Now King Solomon sent and brought Huram from Tyre. He was the son of a widow from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a bronze worker; he was filled with wisdom and understanding and skill in working with all kinds of bronze work. So he came to King Solomon and did all his work. – 1 Kings 7:13-14
Another endowment of wisdom to those who have it can be the possession of certain technical expertise or or specialization. We had earlier read how wisdom can confer the gift of craftsmanship, as was the case of Bezalel and co (Exodus 31:3), today we are considering a similar benefit that is a bit more restricted as against generalized.
Our reference passage today introduced a gentleman to us named Huram, who had wisdom for specialization in bronze materials. The contrast between the manifestation of wisdom in the crafts of the likes of Bezalel and Aholiab was that they had expertise in all manners of crafts, whereas in the case of Hiram, his own expertise was highly concentrated in bronze.
To drive that further home, Huram must have been so good in bronze carving that he could be considered the number one bronzesmith in the world in his time. How did we know? That would be answered thus: who was the richest king in that era? Who was the greatest king in that time? Who was the wisest king in that age? The answer to the questions is Solomon. So, it was Solomon who sent for Huram from the land of Tyre where he was based to come and work for him for all the bronze materials needed in the construction of the temple. A classic case of wisdom seeking wisdom.
Wisdom so distinguished Huram that he was the best bronze expert in his days and the greatest king of that era sought him to come and provide professional service for him. The dynamic of wisdom is that it manifests in different forms in the lives and works of those who have it. Solomon had unusual wisdom for administration and justice, Bezalel had wisdom for craftsmanship, and Hiram had wisdom for bronze.
Wisdom can avail you unusual gift in a certain area or specialized skill that will make you the number one expert or the leading voice in that particular field. You just need to find your own.
You Will Succeed in Jesus Name!
